04 / Recall & reminders

The list works itself.

Reminders, confirmations, and recall run continuously against your live schedule. Replies come back into the inbox, confirmations write to the appointment, and every send is on the ledger.

What the chase looks like without it.

  • A recall report someone runs when there's time, which there isn't.
  • Confirmation calls made in the gaps between patients, and abandoned by Wednesday.
  • Patients who get the same reminder twice because two people worked the same list.
  • Six-month recall that quietly becomes eleven-month recall.

What it does instead.

Runs on its own

Molar recomputes who's due from your live schedule continuously. It's not a batch someone has to remember to kick off.

Nobody gets texted twice

Every send is claimed in a ledger before it goes out. A crash, a retry, or two staff clicking at once can't produce a duplicate.

Confirmations write back

When a patient confirms, the appointment is marked confirmed in OpenDental. Your team reads the schedule, not a second list.

Replies land in the inbox

A reminder that gets a real answer becomes a conversation in the shared inbox instead of a dead end.

How it syncs.

Eligibility is computed from the practice-management system's truth, every time, rather than from a copy Molar keeps.

  • Recall due dates come from OpenDental, on a bounded schedule that doesn't hammer your install.
  • Confirmation status is written back to the appointment in the exact shape OpenDental expects, verified against a live install.
  • Opt-outs and quiet hours are enforced in the send path before anything leaves.

Questions we get asked.

Can we control the timing and wording?

Yes. You set how far ahead reminders go out, which channels they use, and what they say.

What if a patient replies to a reminder?

It becomes a thread in the shared inbox, attributed to the right patient, so someone can actually answer.

Does this replace our recall report?

It works the same list continuously instead of when someone has a free afternoon. The report is still there in OpenDental.
